I love that pre-dating dance that happens before a full-fledged relationship takes shape. The goal is to get a sense of the other person’s availability and interest, without being *too* obvious about it. To seem interested – but not be *too* interested. I love how this film captures a little bit of that dance between Phoenix and Kevin’s early days.
They met at their church’s community group (which is also *my* church, Park Hill, woot woot!). Kevin thought Phoenix was out of his league – she was so mature and her life was so “put together”. Phoenix didn’t think Kevin was at all interested, so she talked to everyone in the group BUT him, ha!
Finally, with enough time they figured out they were perfect for each other. And if you can’t tell by the million kind things all of their friends have to say about them in this film – they are not only an incredible couple, but just incredible individuals. They each want Jesus to be the focus of their lives, and to put others first. I can’t think of a better foundation for a marriage.
This film was hard for me to trim down, because there were endless things I could have included about Phoenix and Kevin as a couple! They are so fun and goofy to be around – and man, what a PARTY. It was so fun to really capture dancing again after 2020! And can we all just give props to Phoenix to jumping in the pool at the end of the night in her dress?!
Anyways, I can go on but I’ll let the film speak for itself. So honored to capture not just this day, but the joy and beauty of their relationship. Congrats, Phoenix and Kevin!
