If you ask them – Luke and Hayley will tell you they met when they were paired together as mentor/mentee for Hayley’s interest in medical school, where Luke was enrolled. If you ask their friends – they will tell you that they actually re-connected through Tinder, ha!
These two have been SO patient in waiting for their wedding day. They contacted me about a year before their May 2020 wedding. They had worked it out that Luke would be doing a research year in the middle of his sugery residecy to have some down time to celebrate. Well, the pandemic hit, and they had to postpone an entire year. Many, many kudos to these two for all the flexibility and patience they have.
But it was so worth the wait! It was such a treat for me to fly out to South Carolina (first flight in a year!) to film at Oldfield Clubhouse in Okatie, SC. Every piece of Hayley’s day was aboslutely stunning. Set on the marsh in low country, it was everything and more you’d imagine a classy Southern wedding to be.
Hayley and Luke are kind and thoughtful. Hayley is always thinking of others, and despite the craziness of Luke’s schedule and planning the wedding, she was so relaxed and present in the moment.
I loved putting this film together for them and the opportunity to go back to South Carolina, a state that holds lots of nostalgia for me. Thanks for the opportunity, Luke and Hayley! So excited for all that the future holds for you both!
